Ori Series Has Sold “Around” 10 Million Units

Thomas Mahler, the CEO of Moon Studios and the director behind the acclaimed Ori games, recently shared exciting news on social media about the franchise's sales achievements. The Ori series, consisting of Ori and the Blind Forest and its sequel, Ori and the Will of the Wisps, has reached a significant milestone, having sold approximately 10 million copies worldwide. This accomplishment has propelled the series to potentially become the highest-selling Metroidvania series to date, or at the very least, secure its position as one of the top contenders in the genre.

The success of the Ori games is particularly noteworthy, considering both titles are also accessible through Game Pass, which suggests that the actual number of players who have experienced these games goes well beyond the sales figures. The blend of enchanting artwork, captivating storytelling, and engaging gameplay has resonated with players across various platforms, including Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch.

Looking ahead, Moon Studios is venturing into new territory with their upcoming game, an action RPG titled No Rest for the Wicked, set to enter early access on Steam on April 18. With the Ori series setting a high bar for success, anticipation is building for what Moon Studios will bring to the table with their next project.
