LinkedIn is introducing a suite of new features powered by artificial intelligence (AI) to aid users in their job search and provide tailored learning experiences on the platform. Unveiled on Thursday, these features include a Jobseeker Coach that locates suitable job opportunities from text prompts, a tool for reviewing resumes and applications, a chatbot to assist in crafting cover letters, and resources for obtaining professional advice. These features are currently being released globally for Premium users.
In a recent newsroom post, LinkedIn highlighted new additions to its AI-powered job experience, which are presently available only in English. The company noted that future enhancements will be introduced based on user feedback.
An AI-powered Jobseeker Coach is among the new tools being launched. This integrated chatbot can perform job searches based on straightforward text prompts. For example, users can input, “Find me a job in cybersecurity within my network” or “Find me a job as a UI/UX designer in Bengaluru that pays at least Rs. 10 lakh a year,” and the AI will sift through its database to provide relevant suggestions. Additionally, it can offer strategies to help users stand out in search results.
LinkedIn has also introduced a feature that can assess users' applications and resumes to improve their competitiveness. The AI will deliver constructive feedback and customized suggestions tailored to specific job postings. It will also aid in enhancing cover letters by providing recommendations that can be reviewed and edited manually.
The platform is expanding its professional support tools with new features to help users seek advice and acquire new skills. According to the company, the expert advice feature allows LinkedIn Premium users to receive personalized guidance from business leaders and coaches, with AI bots trained by actual experts.
Lastly, a Personalised coaching feature will support users as they undertake new courses on the platform. This feature enables users to request content summaries, clarify specific topics, or receive real-time insights and examples. The rollout of these features has commenced, though it may take a few days before they become accessible to all users.
